In a heartfelt display of service and compassion, the brethren of Mactan Hiram Lodge No. 21, led by Immediate Past Master Bro. Armand Dela Cruz, successfully carried out a community outreach program dubbed “Operation Tuli” (Free Circumcision) last May 31, 2025, in Lower 2 Kaiktay, Jaguimit, City of Naga.

The initiative provided free circumcision services to 100 children, ensuring not only their physical health and hygiene but also easing the financial burden on families in the area. The program was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Mactan Hiram Lodge No. 21, the unwavering support of the Visayas 1 Inspectorate, and the professional care of the Medical Altruists — a group of dedicated doctors and nurses who volunteered their expertise for the noble cause.

A Community Effort Rooted in Service
Circumcision, or tuli, is a rite of passage in Filipino culture and a common medical procedure that promotes health and hygiene. However, access to safe and proper circumcision remains a challenge for underprivileged families. Recognizing this gap, the Lodge took the lead in organizing a well-coordinated medical mission, ensuring that children received the care they deserved in a safe and welcoming environment.

The day-long activity was marked by teamwork, dedication, and a strong sense of community. Volunteers from the lodge, medical personnel, and community members worked hand-in-hand to manage logistics, medical procedures, and post-operative care.

A Reflection of Masonic Values
Bro. Armand Dela Cruz, who spearheaded the initiative, emphasized that the project embodies the core Masonic principles of charity, relief, and brotherly love.
“This Operation Tuli is more than just a medical outreach. It’s a chance for us to give back to the community and touch lives in a meaningful way. We are thankful for our brethren, our partners from The Medical Altruists, and the support of the Visayas 1 Inspectorate for making this initiative a success,” said Bro. Dela Cruz.
Parents expressed their gratitude, noting how the program lifted a financial weight off their shoulders and offered their children quality medical care—free of charge.
Looking Ahead
With 100 children served, Operation Tuli 2025 stands as a successful testament to what can be achieved when fraternal organizations and healthcare professionals unite for a common cause. It serves as a beacon of hope for future outreach programs, reaffirming the Masonic commitment to improving lives, one act of kindness at a time.
Mactan Hiram Lodge No. 21 remains committed to continuing its charitable mission — strengthening not only its bond with the community, but also upholding its enduring pledge to serve humanity with humility and compassion.
